The National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) produces some fantastic resources. Here’s one of them! A puzzle involving 3D coordinates where pupils have to use the given clues to find the buried treasure in a 3D grid. Great for a group investigation or a homework 🙂

    As 0 is a square number, I can think of two locations where the treasure is buried.

    Agree that there are two possible solutions (if 0 is classed as square number). Other solution is 231 (432 is incorrect as x + z does not equal y)
