One of the greatest mathematicians of all time and child prodigy, Ramanujan had little formal mathematics education. Living in India, he sent examples of his work to academics at Cambridge University where the great G.H Hardy recognised his brilliance. He went on to work with Hardy at Cambridge who said his work should be considered as influential as Euler, Archimedes and even Gauss.
