I hope your New Year celebrations went off with a bang! Great Maths Teaching Ideas would like to wish all it’s readers a very Happy New Year!

2011 is a special one, it’s the first prime number year we’ve had since 2003 and it’s also the sum of 11 consecutive prime numbers!

2011 = 157 + 163 + 167 + 173 +179 + 181 +191 + 193 + 197 + 199 + 211
